5. P-47 Thunderbolt (United States)
Now, ya might not hear so much about the P-47 Thunderbolt as some of them other planes, but let me tell ya, it was one tough bird. The Thunderbolt was built like a tank – it could take a lotta damage and still keep on flyin’. It wasn’t the fastest plane out there, but it made up for it with its toughness and firepower. Armed with eight .50 caliber machine guns, it could shoot down just about anything that came its way. And it had a real big punch when it came to bombing, too. Some folks say it was the best at taking on ground targets. It might not have been the quickest, but it sure was one of the toughest!
6. Junkers Ju 87 Stuka (Germany)
Here’s one folks remember for its sound – the Junkers Ju 87 Stuka. This here plane was known for its siren, which would scream as it dove toward the ground.
