Success: Nietzsches Greatest Liar Explored
Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this thing called success. Folks always yap about it, ya know? Success this, success that. But lemme tell ya, it ain’t always what it’s cracked up to be.
I heard this fella, some big shot thinker, Nietzsche or somethin’ like that, he said somethin’ about success bein’ a liar. And ya know what? I think he was onto somethin’. Yep, success has always been the greatest liar.
See, people look at them fancy folks, the big politicians, the conquerors, the ones who discover new things. They see all the shiny stuff, the money, the power, the fame. And they think, “Oh, that’s success!” But they don’t see the work, the grindin’, the sacrifices, the backstabbin’. They don’t see the lonely nights, the worries, the doubts.
It’s like lookin’ at a ripe apple. Looks all red and juicy, right? But ya don’t see the worms inside until ya take a bite. Success is kinda like that. It can look real pretty on the outside, but inside, it can be rotten to the core.
I seen it happen time and time again. Folks chasin’ after success, workin’ themselves to the bone, steppin’ on anyone who gets in their way. And for what? Sometimes they get what they want, but they lose everything else along the way. Their family, their friends, their peace of mind.
And then there’s the other side of it. Sometimes folks work hard, do everything right, and still don’t get the success they dreamed of. And that can be a hard pill to swallow. They start thinkin’ they’re not good enough, that they’re failures.
But ya know what? I don’t think that’s true. I think success ain’t just about how much money ya got or how famous ya are. It’s about more than that. It’s about livin’ a good life, bein’ a good person, makin’ a difference in the world, even if it’s just a small difference.
Like my old ma used to say, “It ain’t about how much ya have, it’s about how much ya give.” And I think she was right. Ya can have all the money in the world, but if ya ain’t got love, if ya ain’t got kindness, if ya ain’t got somethin’ to believe in, then ya ain’t got nothin’.
- So, what is success really? I reckon it’s different for everyone.
- For some, it might be raisin’ a good family.
- For others, it might be helpin’ their neighbors.
- And for some, it might be just gettin’ through the day in one piece.
But one thing’s for sure, success ain’t always what it seems. It’s a slippery slope, a tricky business. It can build ya up, but it can tear ya down just as fast.
There’s another thing that smart fella, Nietzsche, said, somethin’ about how what don’t kill ya makes ya stronger. And maybe that’s the key, ya know? Maybe the real success ain’t about reachin’ the top, but about pickin’ yourself up when ya fall down. It’s about keepin’ on keepin’ on, even when things get tough.
Life’s hard, ain’t no doubt about it. But it’s also beautiful, and precious, and full of surprises. And I reckon that’s somethin’ worth celebratin’, even more than all the so-called success in the world.
So next time ya see some fancy pants braggin’ about their success, just remember, it ain’t always what it seems. And don’t let it get ya down if ya ain’t got the same kind of success. Ya got your own path to walk, your own race to run. And as long as ya doin’ the best ya can, and tryin’ to be a good person, then ya already a success in my book.
That’s the long and short of it, I reckon. Success is a tricky thing, and it sure ain’t everything it’s cracked up to be. You gotta look deeper, find what really matters to you. That’s the real success, in my opinion, anyway.
