Who are the Dictators of the Middle East? A Comprehensive List
Well, I tell ya, this Middle East, it’s always been a hot mess of leaders, ain’t it? Been hearin’ about it for ages, even back when I was a young’un. Seems like forever they been fightin’ and squabblin’ over there. Kings and rulers, they call ‘em. Some good, some bad, mostly bad if you ask me.
Now, they say way back when, lots of these places were all part of somethin’ called Islamic empires. Big places, run by them caliphs. Don’t rightly know what a caliph is, but sounded important, I guess. Then there was this Ottoman Empire, lasted a long time, or so I hear. But things change, they always do.
One place they talk about is Israel. They say it’s a democracy, which means the people get to pick their leader, or somethin’ like that. Heard they got this fella named Netanyahu runnin’ things now. Been around a while, he has. Seems like a tough fella, always on the TV.
- But then you got all these other countries, full of dictators. What’s a dictator? Well, it’s like a king, but meaner, I reckon. They just take charge and boss everyone around. Don’t care what the people want.
- Heard about this fella Gaddafi over in Libya. Mean as a snake, they said. Folks got so fed up they run him out, or worse. Same thing happened to some other fellas, like that Mubarak fella in Egypt, and that Saleh fella in Yemen. Folks just ain’t gonna put up with that sort of thing forever.
Seems like every few years, somethin’ blows up over there. Protests, fights, wars… it’s just a mess. All these fellas, thinkin’ they’re so high and mighty. Don’t seem to care much about the ordinary folks, just want to stay in power, no matter what.
And the thing is, these dictators, they ain’t always from the same family or nothin’. Sometimes it’s a general, takes over the army and then the whole country. Sometimes it’s some fella who just talks a good game, gets the people all riled up, then bam! He’s in charge and ain’t lettin’ go.
Heard they got this Arab League over there, too. All these Middle East and North African countries gettin’ together, talkin’ and such. Don’t know if it does much good, though. Seems like they’re always arguin’ amongst themselves.
It’s hard to keep track of all these leaders, to be honest. One day they’re on top of the world, the next they’re gone. Here today, gone tomorrow, that’s how it goes with them dictators. But the poor folks, they’re the ones who suffer. Always caught in the middle, losin’ their homes, their families… it’s just heartbreaking.
So, you ask me about these Middle East dictators, I say they’re trouble. Nothin’ but trouble. Always fightin’, always bossin’ folks around. Wish they could just settle down and let people live their lives in peace. But I don’t reckon that’s gonna happen anytime soon. Not in that part of the world. It’s just the way it is, I guess. Always has been, always will be.
I remember hearin’ on the radio, back when radios were the big thing, about some of these fellas. Names I couldn’t even pronounce. But the stories were always the same. Power, greed, and lots of fightin’. Seems like nothin’ much has changed over the years.
