Unleash Your Creativity: Simple Painting Nature Art Techniques

Alright, let’s gab about painting nature art, you know, the kinda stuff you see hanging on walls sometimes.

First off, ain’t nothin’ new about paintin’ nature. Them old timers, way back when, they was doin’ it too. I heard tell of a fella, Vincent van Gogh, yeah, that’s the one. Folks say he was a real big deal. He painted all sorts of things, but his landscapes, the ones with trees and fields, them’s the ones that stick with ya. He made the land look…alive, like it was breathin’. That’s what they tell me anyways. I ain’t never seen one of them fancy pictures myself, but if they say so, it must be true.

Then there was this other fella, Claude Money, or somethin’ like that. He spent a whole lotta time paintin’ his own flowers. Imagine that! Spendin’ all that time just lookin’ at flowers. Must’ve had a real purty garden, I reckon. Maybe he had too much time on his hands, I don’t know. Seems like a waste of time if you ask me.

  • There’s this picture called The Hay Wain, by some fella named John Constable. It’s got a wagon and some hay, plain as day. Folks seem to like it though.
  • Then there’s that Starry Night picture by that Van Gogh fella again. It’s all swirly and blue. Looks kinda like the sky after you’ve had a bit too much moonshine, if you ask me.

And it ain’t just them European fellas paintin’ nature. Way over in them China places, they had their own artists too. I heard tell of a fella named Fan Kuan, he painted mountains and rivers. Can you imagine paintin’ a whole mountain? Must’ve taken him a good long while, and a whole lotta paint, I tell ya. All those fancy mountains, too much if you ask me. I like flat ground. Easy to walk on.

Then there’s them Japanese folks, they made a picture of a big wave. The Great Wave Off Kanagawa, they call it. It’s real somethin’ to look at, all that water crashin’ down. Makes you wanna run for higher ground, that’s for sure. Though, what’s so great about a wave? Seems dangerous if you ask me. Just makes more work for people to clean up when it crashes.

So, you see, paintin’ nature ain’t just one thing. It’s all sorts of things, from flowers to mountains, from wagons to waves. And folks been doin’ it for ages, all over the world. Famous landscape paintings, they call ’em. Some folks pay a whole lotta money for ’em too. Can you believe that? Payin’ good money for a picture of a tree. Well, I guess each to their own. There is some pretty flowers around. And the trees can be nice in the fall.

Art history, that’s what they call it. Lookin’ back at all them old pictures and seein’ how things changed over time. Some folks like the old stuff, some folks like the new stuff. Me? I like lookin’ at the real thing. Go outside, take a gander at the trees, the flowers, the sky. That’s the best kinda art there is, and it don’t cost ya a dime. But if you ain’t able to get outside I guess pictures are ok too. Just make sure you get a good price.

So next time you see one of them landscape paintings, take a minute to think about it. Think about the fella who painted it, and what he was seein’ when he made it. And if you like it enough, maybe you can hang it on your wall and tell your neighbors all about it. Tell em’ old Martha told ya about it.

And that’s all I got to say about paintin’ nature. It’s purty and all that, but it ain’t nothin’ compared to the real thing. But you go on and do what you like. I’m just an old woman what do I know?
