Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this “god touching” thing, or whatever them fancy folks call it. I ain’t no preacher or nothin’, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. But I reckon I can talk about it in my own way.
What is this “God Touching” all about, you ask? I hear tell it’s somethin’ about God givin’ life to Adam, that first fella. You know, like in that old book, the Bible? Yeah, that one. They say God reached out his hand and, poof, Adam was alive. Just like that! Now ain’t that somethin’? Makes you wonder how it all works, this life and all.
Folks say there’s a picture of it, this touchin’ thing. They call it a “masterpiece” or somethin’. It shows God and Adam’s hands almost touchin’. Just almost! They say that little space between the fingers, that’s where all the meanin’ is. Makes you think, don’t it? About how close we are to God, but maybe not quite there yet. We’re always reachin’, always tryin’ to get a little closer.
- It reminds me of plantin’ seeds. You put them in the ground, and they need somethin’ to grow, right? Sun, water, and somethin’ else, somethin’ you can’t see. Maybe that’s like God’s touch, helpin’ things along, givin’ them life.
- And then there’s babies. When they’re born, they’re so small and helpless. But they grow, they learn, they become people. That’s a miracle, ain’t it? Another kind of touch, maybe.
- I even see it in the way the wind blows through the trees or the way the sun warms your face. It’s like God’s sayin’, “I’m here. I’m all around you.” You just gotta pay attention, gotta open your eyes and your heart.
Some folks say God loved the world so much, he gave his only son. That’s a powerful thing to think about. Love. That’s another kind of touch, ain’t it? A touch that heals, a touch that forgives. It ain’t always easy to love, especially when folks are mean or do you wrong. But that’s when it matters most, I reckon. That’s when God’s love shines the brightest.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ I understand it all. This God business, it’s a mystery. But I believe in it, in the touch, the love, the whole shebang. It’s what keeps me goin’ when things get tough. It’s what gives me hope when things look bleak.
And you know, that touch ain’t just for Adam or them folks in the Bible. It’s for all of us. Every single one of us. We just gotta be willin’ to reach out, to open ourselves up to it. It might not be a big, flashy thing. Sometimes it’s just a little whisper, a gentle nudge. But it’s there, always there.
So how do you feel this “God Touching” in your own life? Well, you gotta start by lookin’ around. See the beauty in the world, the good in people. Listen to your heart, to that little voice inside. And most important, be kind. Be compassionate. Love one another. That’s the best way I know to get close to God, to feel that touch.
It ain’t always easy, I know. Life throws all kinds of things at you. But even in the darkest times, that touch is there. You just gotta remember to look for it. And when you find it, hold on tight. Don’t let go.
I ain’t got all the answers, like I said. But I know this much: God’s touch is real. It’s powerful. And it’s for everyone. So go on out there and find it. It’s waitin’ for you.
