The Devil in Hell: Whats the Real Story?

Well, let me tell you, this here story about the devil in hell, it ain’t pretty. It’s a real mess, just like my old hen house after a fox gets in. People talk all fancy about it, using big words and all, but I’ll tell it to you straight, the way I see it.

First off, who is this devil fella, anyways? They call him all sorts of names, Lucifer this, Samael that. Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. From what I gather, he was some kind of big shot angel, up there in heaven with God. But he got uppity, thought he knew better than the boss man, and tried to start a ruckus. Well, God ain’t nobody to mess with, and he kicked this fella right out, sent him down to hell. Just like that.

The Devil in Hell: Whats the Real Story?

Now, this hell place, that’s another story. Some folks say it’s fire and brimstone, burnin’ forever and ever. Sounds awful to me. Like bein’ stuck in a hot oven with no way out. Others say it’s just…gone. Nothin’ left. Like when you snuff out a candle, and the flame just disappears. This fella, Edward Fudge, he was a preacher man, and he went around talkin’ about how that’s how it really is. Said the Bible talks about folks bein’ destroyed, not tortured forever. Makes you think, don’t it?

  • Was the devil always bad? I don’t reckon so. Seems like he made some bad choices, got himself into a heap of trouble.
  • Is hell a real place? Well, I ain’t been there, and I don’t plan on goin’, but the Bible talks about it enough.
  • Does the devil run hell? Seems like he got stuck with the job after gettin’ kicked out of heaven. Serves him right, I say.

This Samael fella, he was mad. Real mad. Mad at God for kickin’ him out, mad at his ma for not stickin’ up for him. Sounds like a spoiled brat to me. Like that time my grandson, little Timmy, threw a tantrum when I wouldn’t give him another cookie. Same kinda thing, just on a bigger scale. This devil, he’s holdin’ a grudge, and he’s been holdin’ it for a long, long time. They say some painter guy got the idea for a picture of this devil from some old poem. A poem about a garden and folks gettin’ kicked out. Sounds familiar, don’t it?

Now, I ain’t no scholar, but I’ve been around long enough to know a thing or two. Good and evil, it’s always been a fight. And this devil, he’s on the evil side. He’s tryin’ to drag folks down with him, make ‘em as miserable as he is. But the way I see it, we got a choice. We can listen to that devil, or we can listen to somethin’ better. Somethin’ higher.

This whole thing about the devil and hell, it’s a warnin’, if you ask me. A warnin’ to watch yourself, to be careful about the choices you make. Because them choices, they got consequences. Big ones. Just like that devil learned the hard way.

It ain’t easy, this life. It’s full of temptations and troubles. But you gotta keep your head up, keep your eyes on the prize. Don’t let that devil get you down. He might be in hell, but he ain’t got no hold on you, unless you let him.

The Devil in Hell: Whats the Real Story?

So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. The devil in hell. A fallen angel, a fiery pit, and a choice we all gotta make. It ain’t fancy, but it’s the truth, as I see it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens.

And one more thing, this here story, it ain’t just some old wives’ tale. It’s about how even when things look bad, there’s still hope. Even that preacher man, Fudge, he was lookin’ for hope, lookin’ for a different way to understand things. And that’s somethin’ we all need, ain’t it? Hope. Cause without it, what’s the point of gettin’ up in the mornin’?

Anyways, that’s enough talkin’ for one day. My old bones are startin’ to ache. You go on now, and think about what I said. And don’t let that devil get you.
