Top Facts About Amathaunta: The Mysterious Egyptian Goddess
Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Amathaunta, or whatever they call her. Sounds like a fancy name, eh? Don’t know much about these old-timey gods and goddesses, but I heard some things from the telly and them books they sell at the market, so I’ll tell ya what I know. They say she’s one of them Egyptian goddesses, yeah, like those folks way back when, you know, with all the pyramids and stuff.
Who is this Amathaunta anyway? Honestly, I ain’t too sure myself. Seems like nobody really knows for sure. Some say she’s got another name, somethin’ like Amathaon, sounds like a man’s name to me but whatever. They didn’t have good names back then like Mary or John. This here Godchecker thingy, whatever that is, says she’s a goddess, so I guess she is. But these old stories, they change so much, you know? Like that game of telephone we used to play when we were young’uns. One person says somethin’, and by the time it gets to the last person, it’s a whole different story.
Now, them Egyptians, they were crazy about their gods, let me tell you. They had a god for everything! Sun, moon, war, even bugs, I bet! Like this Ra fella, he was the sun god, big shot, I guess. And then there’s Atum, who made himself, imagine that! Sounds like a rooster I once had, strutting around like he owned the whole coop. Atum, he was also the evening sun, so I guess he worked double shifts? Lazy bums, these gods. They had all us humans to do their dirty work.

- Montu: God of war, liked falcons and bulls, noisy fella, I bet. They say he looked like a man with a bird head, weird.
- Sekhmet: Wife of some other god, Ptah, and mother of a lion-headed war god, sounds like a handful. Always with the war, these gods. Can’t they just get along?
And then there’s this Montu guy, war god, you know? Always with the fighting. He liked birds and bulls, them big, snorting creatures. They say he had a bird head, which just seems silly to me. How’d he even eat? And then Sekhmet, she’s another one. Wife of one god, mother of another, seems like a whole soap opera, these gods. She’s also got somethin’ to do with war, seems like everyone back then was fightin’. Maybe they needed a goddess of peace and quiet, that’s what I say. And animals, well, they were important, too. Like that Montu guy and his bulls. Them Egyptians, they had animals everywhere, not just on the farm like us.
So, what’s Amathaunta’s deal? Beats me. Maybe she was important, maybe she wasn’t. These old stories, they don’t always make sense, you know? Like trying to understand why the rooster crows at dawn. It just does. Maybe Amathaunta was like that, just a part of the whole shebang, the whole god family thing. Them Egyptians, they believed in all sorts of stuff, like how the world was made. They had stories about that, too. Lots of different stories, dependin’ on who you ask. One of them was about this group called the Ennead, sounds like a big family reunion, if you ask me.
They say most of these gods, they just stood for one thing. Like that Ra fella with the sun. Simple enough, I guess. But then you got all these other stories and names and connections, it makes my head spin. It’s like tryin’ to make sense of all them wires behind the telly. You just end up with a headache.
Anyway, that’s all I know about this Amathaunta, or whatever her name is. Not much, I know, but it’s somethin’. These old gods and goddesses, they’re a mystery, like why my chickens always lay eggs in the strangest places. Some things you just can’t explain, you know?
