Well, I’ll tell ya, what was goin’ on in America durin’ Jesus’ time? That’s a long time ago, mind you. Way before my time, even before my grandma’s grandma’s time, I reckon. Nobody I know was around back then, that’s for sure.
America back in them days… It wasn’t like it is now, not one bit. No big cities, no cars, no nothin’ like that. Just a whole lotta land, trees, and folks livin’ off the land, I guess. They call ’em “native people” now, but back then, they were just folks livin’ their lives.
See, I heard tell that some folks came over here later on and caused a heap of trouble for them native people. Treat ’em real bad, they did. But that was way after Jesus’ time, so we ain’t talkin’ ’bout that now.
They say Jesus was born and lived over in another place, across the big water. They call it the “Holy Land” or somethin’ like that. Over there, they had kings and temples and all sorts of fancy stuff. Here in America, it was different, real different.
- No kings that I know of.
- No big temples, just folks doin’ their own thing.
- Lots of huntin’ and gatherin’, I imagine. Gotta eat somehow, right?
Now, some folks say Jesus came over here after he died and talked to some folks. I don’t rightly know about that. Seems kinda far-fetched to me. But then again, I ain’t one to say what God can and can’t do. He’s a mighty powerful fella, that God.
Thinkin’ about it, it’s kinda strange, ain’t it? Here’s Jesus bein’ born and livin’ his life, and over here in America, folks are livin’ a whole different life, not even knowin’ who he is. It’s like two different worlds, almost. But I guess that’s just how it was back then.
I heard some preachers talkin’ about it once. They said Jesus came for everyone, even folks who didn’t know him yet. Maybe that’s true. Maybe he was thinkin’ ’bout them folks over here in America, even way back then. Who knows?
It’s hard to picture it, you know? No TVs, no radios, no way of knowin’ what was goin’ on in other parts of the world. Just you and your family and your tribe, tryin’ to make a livin’. Must’ve been tough, real tough. But they probably didn’t know any different, did they?
They say folks was just startin’ to build things over in other parts of America, down south they call it. Meso somethin’-or-other. But that was just the beginnin’, nothin’ like the big cities they got now. Just folks learnin’ how to farm and build stuff, I reckon.
So, what was goin’ on in America durin’ Jesus’ time? Well, folks was livin’. They was huntin’, gatherin’, maybe doin’ a little bit of farmin’. They was raisin’ their families and tryin’ to stay alive. It wasn’t fancy, and it wasn’t easy, but it was their life. And that’s all that mattered, I guess.
It’s a long time ago, like I said. Hard to wrap your head around it. But it’s important to remember them folks, the ones who was here before us. They was part of America too, even if they didn’t know Jesus. They was part of God’s plan, just like the rest of us.
And that’s the truth, as I see it. Not fancy, not complicated, just plain and simple. That’s how I like things. No need for all them big words and fancy talk. Just the truth, plain and simple.
