Get rid of the bad thoughts, the bad feelings. And you gotta make amends if you done somethin’ wrong. Like sayin’ sorry if you stepped on somebody’s toes, ya know? Hecate, she likes things clean and honest.
And then there’s the food part. Seems like you gotta give Hecate a little somethin’ to eat. Not like a whole chicken dinner or nothin’, but maybe a little bit of bread, a little bit of wine. Just to show her you appreciate her help. Like leavin’ a plate out for the hobos, but for a goddess, ya know?
So, that’s what I know about this Hecate candle business. It ain’t rocket science, but it ain’t nothin’ to mess around with either. If you’re gonna do it, do it right. Be respectful, be honest, and be careful. And maybe, just maybe, Hecate will listen to ya. And if she don’t, well, at least you tried, right?
And one more thing, they say you gotta say her name right. I ain’t sure how to say it proper, but you better figure it out before you go lightin’ them candles. Don’t wanna go around callin’ her by the wrong name, might make her madder than a hornet in a pickle jar.
