Easy Lovers Painting Ideas for Beginners to Try Today
Well, I’ll be! Lovers painting ideas, you say? Don’t know much about fancy art, but I reckon paintin’ with your sweetheart can be right fun. Just like when me and old man Johnson used to paint the barn, only prettier, I guess. So, let’s see, what could you lovebirds paint?
First off, you gotta pick somethin’ easy, you know? Like, maybe some apples and oranges in a bowl. Simple stuff. Don’t go tryin’ to paint no fancy castles if you ain’t never held a brush before. That’s just askin’ for trouble, like tryin’ to milk a cow with one hand tied behind your back. You’ll just end up with a mess and a fight, and nobody wants that.
- Apples and oranges
- Flowers, maybe some sunflowers, them’s pretty
- Just some shapes, you know, squares and circles, nothin’ too crazy
Now, if you’re feelin’ a bit braver, you could try paintin’ a picture of your favorite place. Maybe where you first met, or that ol’ oak tree you like to sit under. Just keep it simple, though. Don’t need to put in every little leaf and twig. Just enough so folks can tell what it is, like drawin’ a pig, you just need a big circle and four little legs.
Another thing, you don’t need no fancy paints or brushes, neither. Them acrylic paints you can wash off with water, them’s good. And just get some regular brushes, big ones, small ones, you know. Don’t go spendin’ all your hard-earned money on stuff you don’t need. That’s like buyin’ a gold-plated shovel to dig a hole. It ain’t necessary.
And don’t worry if it ain’t perfect. That’s the whole point, ain’t it? It’s about havin’ fun and spendin’ time together. If it looks like a kindergartner painted it, well, so be it! You made it together, and that’s what matters. You can always say, “that’s what the heart wants the hand paints” and laugh it off. Just like makin’ a quilt, sometimes the stitches ain’t perfect, but it still keeps you warm.
Now, if you really wanna get fancy, you could try one of them diptych things. That’s just two paintings that go together. Like, you paint one half and your sweetheart paints the other. Then you put ’em together and it makes one big picture. Could be a heart, could be a landscape, could be anything you want, really. Just make sure you agree on what you’re gonna paint before you start, or you might end up with two pictures that look like they belong in different houses. It’s like making a pie, you both need to agree on apple or cherry, or you will end up with a very strange pie.
Here’s some more ideas, just off the top of my head:
- Paint each other’s portraits. Don’t worry if they ain’t perfect, just make ’em fun.
- Paint your hands, clasped together. That’s kinda romantic, ain’t it?
- Paint your pets, if you got any. Dogs, cats, chickens, whatever you got.
- Just splatter paint all over the canvas! That’s fun, but be sure to put down some newspaper so you don’t ruin your good table cloth. That’s the voice of experience talkin’.
And most importantly, don’t forget to have fun! Put on some music, pour yourselves somethin’ nice to drink, and just enjoy each other’s company. Paintin’ with your lover, that’s a special thing. It’s a way to connect, to create somethin’ beautiful together, even if it ain’t perfect. It’s like makin’ a stew, everybody throws somethin’ in and you make somethin’ tasty, together.
So, go on now, get yourselves some paint and brushes and get to work! And don’t forget to show me what you made when you’re done. I may not know much about art, but I know a good time when I see one. And who knows? You might just surprise yourselves with what you can create when you put your hearts and hands together.
One last piece of advice, don’t forget to clean up after yourselves. Leaving a mess is just going to cause trouble and you don’t want to start a fight after having a nice romantic time paintin’ pictures. There’s nothin’ romantic about a sink full of dirty paint brushes or paint all over the table.
