Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about these here clowns, the ones with the X eyes, ya know? Scared the bejesus outta me, they did.
Them X-Eyed Clowns: What’s the Big Fuss?
Folks been talkin’, whisperin’ mostly, about these clowns. Heard tell they started showin’ up places, scarin’ kids and whatnot. Greenville, that’s what I heard. Some fellas dressed up like clowns, tryin’ to lure the little’uns into the woods. Lord have mercy! Makes a body shiver just thinkin’ about it.
- Scary clowns ain’t new, y’know.
- Been around for ages, they say.
- Even way back in them ancient times, with them kings and queens.
Now, some fella, a smarty-pants type, he says these bad clowns go way back. Way back to them Greeks, he says. And them court jesters, the ones that made the kings laugh. And this Harlequin fella too. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but who am I to say? Then there’s this Punch fella too, part of the whole mess.
But these modern clowns, the ones with the X eyes, they’re somethin’ else. Nobody really knows where they come from. They just sorta popped up, like weeds in a cornfield. Scary looking things, with them painted faces and big shoes. Some say they were in stories a long time ago, like one this Edgar Allan Poe fella wrote. About a clown and a king, or somethin’ like that. Heard tell it was based on somethin’ that really happened way back when, at a big fancy dress-up party.
Them white faces they got, that ain’t nothin’ new neither. Heard tell it started with some Frenchy clown, Pierrot they called him. Bald head, white face, looked like he fell in a sack of flour. That was way back when, long before my time.
And then there’s this meme thing, the young’uns are always talkin’ about. Somethin’ about a clown and a fella named Dr. Reasons. Seems like this clown meme got folks thinkin’ about how silly some fears are, like bein’ scared of clowns, y’know?
But some folks are really scared, and for good reason, I reckon. There’s even this fella, Wrinkles they call him, dresses up like a clown and scares kids for money. Says he does it for “a few hundred dollars”. Can you believe that? Parents payin’ him to scare their own kids! The world’s gone crazy, I tell ya.
So, what’s the deal with these X eyes? Well, I reckon it just makes ‘em look even creepier. Like they ain’t human or somethin’. Like they’re lookin’ right through ya, seein’ all your secrets and fears. Gives me the goosebumps just thinkin’ about it.
- Clown Sightings: People report seein’ ’em lurkin’ around.
- Scary Stories: Tales spread like wildfire ’bout what they do.
- Social Media: Them young’uns postin’ pictures and videos.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ all clowns are bad. Used to be, clowns were funny, made ya laugh. But these X-eyed ones, they’re different. They ain’t bringin’ no joy, just fear and trouble.
It’s all a bit much for an old woman like me. I just hope folks keep their kids safe and don’t go wanderin’ off with no strangers, especially ones dressed up like clowns with X eyes. You hear me? Stay safe, y’all.
Clowns with X eyes are spooky, no doubt about it. Makes a body wonder what’s goin’ on in the world these days. Just gotta keep your wits about ya, and don’t let them scare you too much. They’re just folks in costumes, after all. Most of ‘em, anyway.
But them X eyes… they still give me the chills.
