Then there’s them outlaws. Robbers and such. They stole money, that’s for sure. And where do ya think they put it? Not in the bank, that’s for certain! They buried it, that’s what they did. Dug a hole and hid it away. Now, where they buried it, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it?
- Could be by a waterfall. You know, them pretty places where the water comes tumblin’ down. Seems like a good spot to hide somethin’.
- Or maybe in a cave. Them caves are dark and spooky, but nobody goes in there much, so it’s safe, I reckon. I heard tell of old markings in caves, maybe that’s where some treasure is hid.
- And this fella, Jameson, he wrote about lost army money. Said it was scattered all over. Imagine that! Soldiers gettin’ paid, and then poof! The money’s gone. Someone had to hide it.
They even say there’s a whole city under a lake somewhere. Can you believe that? A whole city! Who knows what kind of treasures they had back then. Maybe gold, maybe jewels, maybe just old pots and pans, but it’d still be somethin’ to find, wouldn’t it?
I heard about this fella, Franks, went lookin’ for treasure out in Oklahoma. Never found it, though. Lots of folks go lookin’, spend all their time and money, and come up with nothin’. But then there was that treasure they found in Poland, back in the eighties. Gold and silver coins, jewelry… all sorts of stuff. So, it does happen, see? People do find treasure.
It’s like that book says, you gotta separate the truth from the stories. Some of it’s just tall tales, you know? But some of it… well, some of it might just be real. Lost army payrolls, that sounds real enough to me. Soldiers gotta get paid, and sometimes things go wrong.
Makes you think, don’t it? All that stuff buried out there, just waitin’. Could be in your backyard, for all you know! Or maybe down by the creek. Or up on that hill over yonder. This whole state of Tennessee is probably full of holes where people have been diggin’, lookin’ for somethin’ lost.
I tell you what, if I found some treasure, I wouldn’t be tellin’ nobody. I’d keep it quiet, that’s what I’d do. Buy myself a new house, maybe a new car. And I wouldn’t have to worry about money no more. That’d be the life, wouldn’t it? But findin’ it, that’s the hard part.
You gotta be lucky, I guess. And you gotta be persistent. Can’t just give up after a day or two. Gotta keep lookin’, keep diggin’, keep hopin’. And who knows? Maybe one day, you’ll hit the jackpot. Maybe you’ll be the one to find that Tennessee lost treasure. It’s somethin’ to dream on, ain’t it?
So next time you’re out walkin’, keep your eyes peeled. Look for anything unusual. A funny-lookin’ rock, a strange mark on a tree, anything that seems out of place. You never know, it might just be a clue. A clue to where that lost treasure is hidin’. And if you do find somethin’, well, you just remember what I said. Keep it quiet.
There are all kinds of stories floating around. It’s hard to know what to believe. But I tell ya, there’s somethin’ excitin’ about the thought of treasure huntin’. It makes ya feel alive, like you’re on an adventure. Even if you don’t find nothin’, at least you had some fun lookin’, right?
And this treasure huntin’, it ain’t just for young folks neither. Old folks can do it too. It’s good exercise, gettin’ out in the fresh air and walkin’ around. And it keeps your mind sharp, tryin’ to figure out where that treasure might be. So don’t let nobody tell you you’re too old to go lookin’ for treasure. You’re never too old for a little adventure.
