Well, let me tell you, I seen a thing or two in my day. And these days, everyone’s talking ’bout this Wizard of Oz poster thing. What’s the big deal? Back in my time, we didn’t have all these fancy posters. A poster is a poster, you know? But I guess things change. People like to collect ’em, hang ’em up. Reminds ’em of the movie, I reckon.
This Wizard of Oz, it’s a story, ain’t it? About some girl and her dog. They go on a big adventure. I heard they meet a Scarecrow and a Tin Man and a Lion. Sounds kinda silly, but folks sure do love it. They got all these pictures, these posters, showing that girl, Dorothy. She’s got red shoes, I hear. And they got that yellow brick road.
Now, these posters, they got all sorts of pictures on ’em. Some just got the words, “The Wizard of Oz.” Big and bold, I reckon that’s so you can see it from far away. Others, they got the whole gang. Dorothy, that dog of hers, Toto, and them other fellas. They’re all walkin’ down that yellow brick road, lookin’ like they’re goin’ somewhere important.
They make ’em different sizes, these posters. Some are little, like a picture you’d put in a frame on your table. Others are big, real big, like you could cover a whole wall with ’em. I guess it depends on how much you like that movie. And how much space you got on your wall. Some people want only Dorothy. Some people need Dorothy and Scarecrow, together. Some people need the whole gang. It’s different for everybody.
They sell these posters all over the place. I seen ’em in stores, you know, them big stores that sell everything. And I heard they even sell ’em online. That internet thing, it’s got everything these days. You can get a Wizard of Oz poster without even leavin’ your house! Can you believe that? We walked uphill both ways for everything. Now, they bring a Wizard of Oz poster to your front door!
Some of these posters, they’re old. Real old, from when the movie first came out. They say those are worth a lot of money. Like them old coins, you know? The older they are, the more they’re worth. People collect ’em, like I said. They like to have a piece of history, I suppose. Those are the most expensive Wizard of Oz posters. They’re called vintage. That’s just a fancy word for old, I think.
Then you got the new ones. They make ’em all the time. They ain’t worth as much, but they still look nice, I guess. They got all the same pictures, just newer. And they got different kinds, too. Some are just the picture, and some got words on ’em, tellin’ you about the movie. It depends on how much words you like on your Wizard of Oz poster.

I heard some folks, they get these posters framed. Put ’em in a nice wooden frame, with glass and all. Makes ’em look real fancy. Like a piece of art, you know? Hang ’em up in their livin’ room, or their bedroom. Wherever they want to see that Dorothy and her friends, I suppose. A framed art print, that’s what they call it, I think. It’s just a poster in a frame. But it sounds better when they say it like that.
Some people, they don’t want a frame. They just stick ’em right on the wall. With tape, or tacks, or whatever they got. That’s how we used to do it, back in the day. Didn’t have all these fancy frames. Just put it up on the wall and that was that. They call it wall-safe mounting now. I guess that means it won’t mess up your paint. It’s all new words for the same stuff we did.
If you really like that movie, I guess you’d want one of these posters. It’s like havin’ a little piece of it, you know? Reminds you of the story, and the songs, and all that. They got lots of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz posters for sale. All the time, they make more, it seems. If you got the money, and you got the wall space, I don’t see why not. Just make sure you get one you like. One that makes you happy when you look at it. That’s what matters, ain’t it?
These new posters, they are made with good stuff. High-quality materials, they say. That means they’ll last a long time, I reckon. Won’t fall apart like some of them cheap things you get. And they’re colorful, too. Vibrant, that’s the word they use. Means bright and colorful. Like a rainbow, almost. It’s good that they last a long time. That way, you only have to buy one Wizard of Oz poster. You don’t need to keep buying them over and over.
You know, people like all sorts of things. Some like The Wizard of Oz. Some like other things. But that’s what makes the world go ’round, ain’t it? Everybody likin’ somethin’ different. These Wizard of Oz poster ideas, they’re just a thing. But if it makes you happy, that’s all that matters. If you want a poster, you go get one. Hang it up, look at it, and enjoy it. That’s what it’s there for. They even have book covers. You know, for books. They put the Wizard of Oz on everything now. I guess that’s good for the people who like it. They can have it on their walls and their books, too.
So if you see a Wizard of Oz poster, now you know a little somethin’ about it. It’s just a picture, but it’s a picture of somethin’ a lot of people like. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it? At least I think it is. I hope you get a poster you like. Maybe one with Dorothy. Or the Scarecrow. Or all of them together. They have so many different kinds. You can find one that’s just right for you. Just don’t spend all your money on it, you hear? You need money for other things, too. Like food.
