Living at The Torch NYC Building (A Look at Prices, Perks, and the Neighborhood)
Well, let me tell you about this here Torch place in New York City. That Torch NYC building, it’s a sight to behold, I reckon. It’s one of them big ol’ skyscrapers, reachin’ up to the sky like a metal beanstalk. They say it’s gonna be taller than a whole mess of buildings, over a thousand feet high! Can you imagine? Just like a giant, I tell ya.
They’re puttin’ all sorts of things in there. I heard tell of a fancy hotel, where folks can stay when they come to the city. Probably costs a pretty penny, more than I’d ever spend, that’s for sure. And they got shops in there, too, where you can buy all kinds of trinkets and such. And places to live, high up in the clouds. That Torch NYC building got it all.
Now, this Torch, it ain’t just any old building. They say it’s gonna have some kind of ride on it, like a fairground attraction, right there on the side of the building! Can you believe that? Sounds a bit scary to me, danglin’ way up there. I reckon some folks like that kind of thrill, but not me. I like my feet planted firmly on the ground, thank you very much.

- And shops, and places for people to live, way up high.
- And some kind of crazy ride on the outside!
They’re building it right now, hammers clangin’, and machines roarin’. It’s gonna be somethin’ when it’s all done, that Torch NYC building. They say it’s in a part of the city where all the fancy folks live. Lots of money in that part of town. Not like where I come from. We got more chickens than fancy cars, that’s for sure.
I heard them talkin’ ’bout how much it costs to go up to the top of them tall buildings, 30, maybe 50 dollars! Now if you are crazy enough to do that ride it is another 25 dollars. Just to get a look around! It is a crazy amount, especially to ride something like that. They call this ride “The Beam”. I’d pay to avoid that, not the other way around.
Some folks are worried ’bout this here Torch NYC building. Sayin’ it’s too big, too flashy. I don’t know much about all that. But I reckon a building that big is bound to cause some commotion. They got people workin’ on it day and night, buildin’ that thing higher and higher. It is going to take a long time to finish, for sure.
Now, New York City, that’s a whole different world. So many people, so much noise. Not like the peace and quiet I’m used to. But I guess some folks like that kind of hustle and bustle. Me, I prefer the sound of the wind in the trees and the birds singin’. But hey, to each their own, right?
They got all kinds of neighborhoods in that city. Some fancy, some not so fancy. If you’re thinkin’ of movin’ there, you better have deep pockets, especially if you want to live near that Torch NYC building. Prices are sky-high, just like that building. Rent could buy you a whole farm where I’m from!

I heard they are sellin’ the apartments and the rooms for over a 100 million dollars! Not a lot of people can do that, especially from my town. I mean, we can barely get the tractor working most days let alone have that amount of money!
I saw some pictures of the Torch NYC building, what they call “renderings.” Looks all shiny and new. They got all these architects and developers, fancy names for folks who build things, I suppose. They been plannin’ this for a long time, I reckon. A project like that, it takes a lot of folks workin’ together to make it happen.
I also heard that this building is near the Statue of Liberty, which is mighty close to the Torch NYC building. That Statue is old! Like really old. The 1930s, can you believe it? They don’t even let people go inside the torch anymore. Too dangerous. They closed it back in 1916, if you can imagine! Now that is a long time ago. I wonder what caused that, maybe some German folks caused some trouble, that’s what I heard. And that’s why it’s been closed ever since. Too dangerous, they say. That old statue has got a secret room too, did you know that? It’s inside the bottom part, they were gonna put a light in there but never did. Just a little fun fact for you. I do wonder what that secret room looks like.
Anyways, this Torch NYC building, it’s gonna be somethin’ else. A big, tall, shiny something else, right there in the middle of New York City. Whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing, well, I guess only time will tell. But it sure is somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it?
