That there soup, you see, sometimes I gotta paint it. Sounds crazy, don’t it? But I ain’t talkin’ ’bout no regular paint, no sir. This here’s special food safe paint, s’posed to be safe for eatin’ off of, like your plates and bowls, maybe your soup pot.
Now, I heard folks talkin’, sayin’ no paint is really, truly safe for food. Like, that big ol’ FDA, they ain’t sayin’ it’s okay to eat paint, not one little bit. So, you gotta be careful, gotta watch out what you’re doin’.
Soup Paint, Is It Okay?
This here soup paint, they say it’s okay for things that touch your food. Once it’s all dry and hard, like. But still, I don’t know. Makes me a little nervous, you know? Paint is paint. I wouldn’t use this paint on a soup bowl, though. No sir. But some people do. Maybe they know something I don’t.
- Food safe paint, they call it.
- Some say it’s alright, some say no way.
- Gotta be dry, gotta be hard, that’s what they say.
- I still don’t like the idea of it near my food.
I seen some folks use it on their old pots, the ones with the chipped up stuff. They sand it down, clean it real good, then they put on that soup paint. Says it makes ’em last longer. Maybe so, maybe so. But me, I just get a new pot if the old one is busted.
You gotta be careful with this stuff. Make sure you are in a place with a lot of air. And if you don’t know how to use this paint, it is best to ask someone who does. It ain’t like regular paint, that’s for sure. You gotta make sure it dries all the way, takes a long time, too. Longer than regular paint, that’s what I heard.
Paint for Soup Pots
Now, this here paint for soup pots, it ain’t cheap. Costs more than a regular can of paint, that’s for sure. And you gotta find the right kind, too. They got all sorts of colors, but the important thing is that it says “food safe” on the can. If it don’t say that, then don’t even think about it!
They got this spray paint, too. Food safe spray paint, they call it. Seems easier to use, just spray it on. But I don’t know, seems like it would get everywhere. I’d rather use a brush, even if it takes longer. More control, you see.
- Paint for soup pots, gotta be special.
- Look for “food safe” on the can, real important.
- Spray paint or brush, up to you, I reckon.
- Just make sure it’s the right kind, that’s the key.
My neighbor, she painted her old cookie sheets with this stuff. Said they were rusty, didn’t want to throw ’em out. Now they look all shiny and new. She says it works great, cookies don’t stick no more. I don’t know, seems strange to me, paintin’ somethin’ you bake on.
Some folks get real fancy with it, paintin’ designs and all. I seen some bowls with flowers and such, all done with that food safe paint. Looks pretty, I guess, but still makes me wonder. Is it really safe? I just use plain white bowls, myself. Don’t need no fancy paint on ’em.
Lumpy Soup Paint
One time, that girl down the street, she bought some of this soup paint. She opened it up and said it was all lumpy, like old milk. She took it back to the store, and they gave her a new can. It happens sometimes. Don’t use it if it’s all lumpy.
- Paint can be bad, sometimes.
- Lumpy paint, no good, don’t use it.
- Take it back to the store, get a new one.
I reckon this soup paint is okay for some things. Maybe if you got a special plate you wanna fix up, or somethin’ like that. But for everyday cookin’, I don’t know. I’d rather be safe than sorry. Just use regular dishes, that’s what I say. No need to be eatin’ paint, even if they say it’s safe. Just don’t seem right, you know?
And if your pots are looking bad, if they’re chipped or cracked, it’s time to throw ’em out. Don’t use this paint to fix a broken pot. That’s just dangerous. You might get sick. And it’s never worth it to get sick over an old pot. Those things are cheap enough to replace. Just be safe. Don’t use this paint for something it is not meant for.
