Putin, That’s a Big Name
First one, Putin, everyone knows him. He’s like the head rooster in Russia, been there forever, since ’99 I think. He is the most famous Russian, always in the news, just like my neighbor’s gossiping wife. You can’t miss him, always showing up on the TV, making big decisions and all that stuff.
He is the president, you see, the big boss. Like, imagine the biggest potato in your garden, that’s Putin in Russia. Everybody knows him, talks about him. Good or bad, he is the most famous one for sure.
That Emperor Guy, Nicholas
Then there’s this other fella, Nicholas. Not the one from my village, another one. He was a king or something, a long time ago, lived in a big house with lots of fancy stuff. An emperor, they called him. Tsar Nicholas II, that’s his full name, all fancy like.
Born way back, 1868, I reckon, older than my old grandpa’s boots. He was the last of those emperor guys in Russia. Things didn’t end well for him, though. Sad story, really. But famous, oh yeah, he’s up there with the most famous people from Russia.
Writers, Fighters, and Music Makers
They got writers too, like those folks who write in them books. Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, those are big names. Never read them myself, too busy with my chores, but folks say they’re good, real good. They wrote about life, and love, and all that complicated stuff.
Anton Chekhov, another writer guy, they say he was good, making those stories and plays. I guess he put Russia on the map with his words. Imagine that, becoming famous just by writing stuff down.

And music, they got music people too. Tchaikovsky, that’s a name I hear a lot. Makes that fancy music, you know, the kind they play in those big halls. Not my kind of tune, I prefer the old folk songs, but he’s famous alright, known all over for his music.

This Russia, it’s a big place, lots of people, and some of them get real famous. They become famous Russian people, known all over the world. Some are leaders, like Putin, some are writers, like that Tolstoy fella, and some are fighters, like that Khabib guy.
They all got their stories, just like us regular folks. But their stories, they get told everywhere, written in books, shown on TV. They become a big deal, these famous Russian people.
It’s a wonder, really, how some folks get so famous. Just living their lives, doing their thing, and then boom, everyone knows their name. Like my rooster, always crowing, making a fuss, he thinks he’s famous too.
But yeah, Russia, they got a lot of these famous people. More than you can shake a stick at, I reckon. It’s a big world out there, and those Russian celebrities, they sure make their mark on it.
I don’t know all of them, of course. I’m just a simple person, living a simple life. But I hear things, you know, names that keep popping up. And those names, those are the famous people of Russia.
