Difference Between Punk and Goth Styles Music Fashion and More Explained Simply
Ey, you young’uns, gather ’round, let this old gal tell ya somethin’ about them punk and goth kids. See, back in my day, we just wore what we had, didn’t matter if it was fancy or not. But these young folks today, they got all these different styles. Now, I ain’t one to judge, but I done seen a thing or two, and I’ll tell ya, there’s a difference between them punk and goth folks.
What them Punk Kids Like?
Them punk kids, they like things loud and wild. Always wearin’ them ripped-up clothes, like they just got in a fight with a wild cat. And the hair! Oh, the hair! All different colors, sticking up every which way, like they stuck their finger in a light socket. You know, them punk folks, they want everybody look at them, make some noise.
- Bright clothes, all torn up.
- Crazy hair, like a rainbow exploded on their head.
- Loud music, make your ears ring.
- They like to shout and jump around, full of beans, they are.
I heard them punk kids like music fast and angry, yellin’ about the government and how they don’t like the rules. They’re always complainin’ about somethin’. I reckon they just need a good job and a hot meal, that’d settle ’em down. They like them ripped shirts, them safety pins, look like they just don’t care what other people think.
What about them Goth Kids?
Now, them goth kids, they’re a different breed. They like things dark and spooky, like they’re always headed to a funeral. They wear all that black, like they’re in mournin’ or somethin’. And the makeup! Pale faces, dark eyes, look like they ain’t seen the sun in a month of Sundays. And they like that sad kind music, slow and heavy, make you feel all gloomy. They keep to themselves, them goth kids.
- Black clothes, head to toe, like they’re always sad.
- Pale faces, dark makeup, like they’re afraid of the sun.
- Slow music, kinda makes you wanna cry.
- They’re quiet, don’t talk much, always thinkin’ deep thoughts.
I seen them goth kids, they like them long black coats, even when it’s hot outside. And them boots, heavy things, look like they could stomp a mudhole in ya. They got them fancy clothes too sometimes, like them old-timey dresses, all lace and velvet. Makes ’em look like they come out of one of them old movies. They got these goth kids that look like them punk too, with the hair and the ripped clothes but always in black. They call them deathrock.
Punk and Goth, They Ain’t the Same
So, you see, them punk and goth kids, they’re different. One’s all loud and bright, the other’s all quiet and dark. One’s like a firecracker, the other’s like a rainy day. But they both like their music, and they both like to dress up in their own special way. It takes all kinds to make a world, I reckon. I remember there was this music, they call it gothic rock, come from post-punk, somethin’ like that.
Them punk folks, they like to be different, they don’t like the big shots tellin’ them what to do. They say what they think, even if it ain’t nice. Them goth folks, they like to think about the dark side of things, about dyin’ and bein’ sad and all that. They ain’t hurtin’ nobody, I guess, just bein’ themselves.
I don’t understand it, but who am I to judge? So if you see a kid wearin’ all black, lookin’ sad, they’re probably one of them goth kids. If you see a kid with a crazy hair, yellin’ and wearin’ ripped up clothes, that’s probably a punk. They different, but they just tryin’ to figure out who they is, I guess. And they both love them jewelry, them goth wear lots of metal stuff, all sliver. Just like them young kids do today.
Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy names for things. But I reckon it’s all the same, just young folks tryin’ to find their place in the world. And there ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, is there? Live and let live, that’s what I always say. As long as they don’t making trouble, they can do what they want.
