Where to Buy Accessories Alice in Wonderland (Easy Guide for Fans)
Okay, so, like everyone else, I’ve been obsessed with Alice in Wonderland lately. I mean, who hasn’t, right? But I wanted to take it beyond just watching the movie or reading the book again. I wanted to, you know, really get into it. So I decided I’d make my own Alice in Wonderland accessories. Sounds a bit nuts, I know, but stick with me here.
First thing I did was brainstorm. What could I make? I thought about those awesome “Drink Me” potions, but I’m no good at making drinks, plus I didn’t want to accidentally poison myself. Then I remembered the White Rabbit’s pocket watch, and I thought, “Hey, I can work with that!” I don’t actually have a pocket watch, but I do have an old clock, so my first real step was taking that apart. Clock parts are a lot smaller than I thought they’d be, by the way. Definitely need good eyes for this kind of thing.
Next, I gathered up a bunch of other stuff. I had some old jewelry chains lying around, a few beads that kinda looked like pearls, and some fabric scraps from an old sewing project. I figured I could use these to make something…anything, really. I was just going with the flow, seeing what I could piece together.
My first project ended up being a necklace. I took one of the bigger clock gears, attached it to a chain, and then added some of those pearl-like beads around it. It turned out pretty cool, actually. Very steampunk, very Alice in Wonderland, if I do say so myself. I wore it out the other day and got a bunch of compliments. Score!
- Gear up: Used old clock parts to form the base of the accessories.
- Chain reaction: Attached chains to the gears and added some beads.
- Fabric fun: Started experimenting with fabric scraps to see what else I could come up with.
Then I got a little more ambitious. I found a plain headband and decided to decorate it. I cut out some heart shapes from red felt, glued them onto the headband, and then added some playing card symbols I cut out from an old deck. It was a bit messy, and I definitely got glue on my fingers more than once, but the end result was pretty great. It’s a bit over the top, but hey, that’s kind of the point, right?
I even tried making a small purse. I found this tutorial on how to make a simple pouch, and I followed it using some of those fabric scraps I had. I then decorated it with more clock parts and some beads. It’s not exactly a designer bag, but it’s definitely unique. And it fits my phone, so that’s a win.
The Final Touches
After making all these, I felt like something was missing. Then it hit me – the Cheshire Cat’s grin! I found some glow-in-the-dark paint and painted that iconic grin on a plain black fan. So, it’s not just a fan, it’s a Cheshire Cat fan! At night, or in a dark room, that grin just pops. It’s a little creepy, but in a good way, you know?
So yeah, that’s my Alice in Wonderland accessories adventure. It was a lot of fun, and I ended up with some really unique pieces that I love. I might even try making some more stuff. Maybe I’ll try to tackle the “Drink Me” potion again, but this time with a little more research, so I don’t, you know, end up in the ER. Who knows! The possibilities are endless, just like Wonderland itself.
