So, I’ve been messing around with this whole art thing for a while now, and I gotta say, drawing people is tough! But I’ve been practicing, and I wanted to share some of the stuff I’ve picked up along the way. It’s not perfect, but hey, we all start somewhere, right?
Getting Started
First off, I grabbed a bunch of paper and some pencils. Nothing fancy, just regular stuff you can find anywhere. I also pulled up some pictures on my phone for inspiration. You know, just random people doing random things. I’m not trying to copy them exactly, but it helps to have something to look at, you know?
Basic Shapes
I started by sketching out some basic shapes. Like, a circle for the head, an oval for the body, and some lines for the arms and legs. It looked kinda like a stick figure at first, but it’s all about getting the proportions right. I messed up a lot at this stage, but that’s what erasers are for, am I right?
Adding Details
Once I had the basic shapes down, I started adding in some details. Like, I drew in the eyes, nose, and mouth. Then I added some hair, clothes, and other stuff. It was slow going, but I could see my stick figure starting to look more like a real person. Still kinda rough around the edges, but it was getting there.
Experimenting with Styles
- Doodling: I tried out some doodling, just letting my hand flow freely on the paper. It ended up looking pretty cool, like the most abstract and basic style of figure drawing.
- Pop Art: I also dabbled in some pop art. You know, that style that’s all bright colors and bold lines, inspired by comic books and stuff? It was fun to play around with, and it definitely made my drawing stand out.
Final Touches
After I was happy with the details, I went over the whole thing with a darker pencil to make the lines stand out more. I also added some shading to give it some depth. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s definitely better than my first attempts, that’s for sure!
