Serrated Ruler: Why You Might Need One? (A Quick Look at Its Benefits)
A few days ago, I was working on a project that needed something like a serrated ruler. I didn’t have one and couldn’t find it in any store nearby. So, I thought, why not make it on my own? It turned out to be a fun little project.
I started by grabbing some materials. I had a piece of thin, flexible metal sheet lying around. It was perfect because it was sturdy but also easy to cut. I also took a standard ruler for measurements and a marker. Then, I needed something to make the serrations. I used a small saw for cutting the metal.
First, I marked lines on the metal sheet using the standard ruler. I decided to make the serrations about 1/4 inch apart. I carefully marked each point with the marker. Next, I took the saw and started cutting along the marked lines. It was a bit tricky to keep the cuts straight and the same depth, but I went slowly and took my time.
After cutting all the serrations, I noticed the edges were a bit rough. I didn’t want to cut myself or damage anything with the sharp edges. So, I took a file and smoothed out each serration. It took a while, but it was worth it. The ruler was starting to look pretty good.

In the end, I had a homemade serrated ruler that worked well for my project. It might not be as precise as a store-bought one, but it got the job done. And there’s something satisfying about using a tool that you made yourself.
