Hey everyone, so I’ve been on this wild goose chase for a large Easter Island statue, you know, the moai ones. It all started when I was watching a documentary about Easter Island. Those giant heads are just so cool, and I thought, “Why not have one in my backyard?”
So, I started digging around online. I spent hours searching on all sorts of websites for these statues. I wanted a big one, something that would really stand out. I found lots of small ones, like tabletop decorations, but I wanted something grand, like, at least a few feet tall.
- EMSCO Group Easter Island Head Statue – This one was pretty cool, made of resin and about 28 inches tall. But $19.99 seemed a bit too cheap for what I wanted.
- NA Black Cast Iron Easter Island – A cast iron one caught my eye, but at $38.98, it was still small and not quite the vibe.
- 3 PCS Easter Island Head Statue – This was a set of three, priced at $17.99. But again, too small, too cheap.
- GANAZONO Easter Island Head – This one was $14.69, still not what I was looking for.
- Hi-Line Gift Ltd Easter Island – Now we’re talking! This one was $247.08, it is still expensive.
- Flurriesancient Easter Island – Found another one for $17.99, but no, too small.
- Design Toscano Easter Island Ahu – This one was $46.90, getting closer but still not the size I wanted.
After looking through tons of options, I realized these things are quite expensive. The big ones, I mean. I read that the real moai on Easter Island are huge, like 13 feet tall and weigh 14 tons. They’re made from volcanic ash, which is pretty awesome. The biggest one ever found is called “El Gigante,” and it’s 72 feet tall!
Anyway, I kept searching, and finally, I found a few places that sell replicas. They’re not cheap, but they look amazing. I ended up ordering one that’s about 6 feet tall. It’s made of some sort of durable material. It cost me a small fortune, but hey, it’s going to look epic in my garden.
So, that’s my story about hunting down a large Easter Island statue. It took a while, but I think it’s going to be worth it. I can’t wait for it to arrive! I’ll definitely post some pics when I set it up.
Man, if you ever want something unique for your yard, consider one of these. Just be prepared to spend some serious cash and do a lot of searching. It’s a bit of an adventure, but it’s pretty fun. These moai statues are just so mysterious and cool. I’m stoked to have one of my own!
