Okay, so, the other day, I was messing around with this idea about a snake on a cross symbol. It’s a pretty wild image, right? I mean, you’ve got this classic symbol of good, the cross, and then this creature that’s often seen as evil or tricky, the snake. So I just had to make this!
First, I started by sketching out a few ideas. Just rough stuff, you know? Trying to figure out how I wanted the snake to wrap around the cross. Should it be all coiled up tight, or more loose and flowy? Should the cross be simple, or more detailed like you have seen before?
After I had a basic design I liked, I moved on to the digital part. I used my design software, nothing too fancy, just something I’m comfortable with. I started with a simple cross shape. Then, I drew the snake, making sure it looked like it was really winding around the cross, not just sitting on top of it.
- I played around with colors a lot. I thought about going for the classic gold cross, but then I tried a darker, almost black cross, and it looked way cooler. It gave it a more mysterious vibe.
- For the snake, I tried a bunch of different greens and browns. Ended up settling on this cool metallic green. It made the snake look kind of ancient and powerful.
- Once I had the colors down, I started adding some details. I gave the snake some scales, not too many, just enough so you could tell it was a snake and not just a weird green worm.
And then, I added some texture to the cross, making it look a little worn, like it had been around for ages. I even played around with the background. Tried some different gradients and patterns. Finally, I settled on a simple dark background to really make the symbol pop.
The result?
I gotta say, I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out. It’s got this cool, almost mystical feel to it. Like it’s some ancient symbol that holds some secret meaning. I’ve been showing it to my friends, and they all think it’s pretty awesome too.
I learned that sometimes, combining two opposite symbols can create something really unique and meaningful. It also reminded me that the process of creating something is just as important as the final product. All those little decisions along the way, they all add up to something special. Maybe next time I will try more complex symbol like Caduceus!
