Alright, today I wanna talk about my recent experience with Richard the Lionheart in Evony. I’ve been playing this game for a while now, and I’ve gotta say, figuring out the best way to use each general can be a real head-scratcher.
So, I got my hands on Richard the Lionheart. First thing I did was check out his stats. When you max out his specialties, this guy gets a solid 50% siege buff. Pretty impressive, right? I saw that he’s ranked 9th in siege defense and 7th in siege HP, so I figured he’s gotta be good for defending.
Then I started digging around to see what other players were saying. I found out that this Takenaka Shigeharu is like, the ultimate in-city defense general. Apparently, sometimes Evony releases these generals that are just way better than the others, and Takenaka is one of them. He’s rated A+ with a score that goes up to 1258. Crazy stuff. If I get him next time, I will share more.
But back to Richard. I wanted to use him as my wall duty general, ’cause that’s where he shines. There’s also a lot of chatter about Minamoto no Yoshitsune and Elektra being the best for ranged troops if you’re not spending a ton of money. Minamoto is great for attacking and reinforcing, and Elektra is a beast for attacking, so I might try them out later.
I also learned that Richard can boost your hospital capacity by 30% when he’s the main city’s defense general. That’s a big deal, but then I found out that with the new Officers and Holy Palace, the hospital isn’t as crucial anymore. It seems like you usually have way more troops than your hospital can handle anyway.
Here’s what I did:
- Leveled him up: First, I focused on getting Richard to a decent level. More levels mean better stats, so this was a no-brainer.
- Upgraded his specialties: I poured resources into maxing out his specialties to get that sweet 50% siege buff. It took some time, but it felt worth it.
- Assigned him to the wall: I made Richard my main wall duty general. That’s his specialty, after all.
- Tested him out: I got attacked a few times, and I gotta say, Richard did a pretty good job. My defenses held up better than before.
So, what’s the verdict? Richard the Lionheart is definitely a solid pick for defense, especially if you’re focusing on siege. He’s not the absolute best in every area, but he’s up there. If you can get Takenaka Shigeharu, that’s probably your best bet for in-city defense. But if you’re looking for a good ranged general without breaking the bank, Minamoto no Yoshitsune or Elektra might be the way to go.
