So, I’ve been getting into this whole Hecate thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a trip! I kept seeing her name pop up in random places, and it felt like a sign, you know? So, I decided to learn a bit more about this goddess.
Started with some digging
First, I hit up the internet – because where else do you start these days? I found this little online community, they call it r/Hecate. It’s not huge, but the people there are super passionate, it gave me lots of useful information. They were talking about all sorts of books, and that’s where my journey really kicked off.
I found out that if you really want to get into Hecate, you gotta start with the history, like, the unbiased academic stuff. It’s not the most exciting, but it gives you a good foundation.
Dove into the books
-
Someone recommended Sorita d’Este’s books, saying they’re like the gold standard right now. So I got my hands on “Liminal Rites”. And I have to say this book made me know more things about Hecate.
-
Then, there was this other book, “Hekate: The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Goddess of Witchcraft and Ancient Greek Magic”. I know, it’s a mouthful, but it was actually pretty interesting. It’s part of a series called “Spiritual Gods and Goddesses”, which sounds kind of cheesy, but it had some good stuff, especially the comprehensive part and how interesting they described in this book.
Explored more resources
I also found this 46-page digital guidebook. I thought “Why not?”. I found it’s pretty neat because it’s like a summary of all the things about Hecate, her mythology, and her role in magic and witchcraft. It helped me understand all of that from different perspectives.
Reflected on my own experiences
Then I started thinking, maybe I should write down my own experiences? I mean, I’ve been working with Hecate’s energy for, like, 20 years. I could share my own insights, rituals, and stuff like that. It felt like a cool way to contribute to the community and maybe help others who are just starting out.
Kept learning and sharing
So, that’s what I’ve been up to! Reading, exploring, and trying to understand this complex goddess. It’s been a pretty wild ride, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next. I’ll definitely keep sharing my experiences and what I learn along the way. Because that’s what it’s all about, right? Learning and growing together, I guess it is the meaning of doing these things.
