Literary Fatal Flaw Crossword Clue: Simple Hints and Common Answers
Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this crossword thing, right? And the clue was “literary fatal flaw”. It really got me thinking.
First, I went to this website called CommonLit. I hoped to find some lessons related to “literary fatal flaw”, but it turned out to be a big website that had tons of reading lessons. I scrolled through a few pages but didn’t find anything specific. It’s just a huge collection of general stuff, you know? Not very helpful for what I was looking for.
Then, I shifted my focus to A-Level English Literature past papers. I figured those might have some good examples. I found some AQA papers from June 2022, specifically the 7712/1 paper about “Love Through the Ages”. I downloaded them and checked the mark schemes, too. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. Lots of pages and quite detailed.
Browsing through a bunch of these past papers, I realized it’s a decent way to prepare. There were all sorts of questions designed to cover all those Assessment Objectives. Weightings and all that stuff, you know? Answers are supposed to be marked holistically, which is kind of fancy talk for looking at the big picture, I guess.
I also stumbled upon Quizlet. They had flashcards with terms like “simile” and “pun”. Not exactly what I needed, but hey, it’s always good to brush up on those basics, right? It did make me realize how much there is to remember about literary terms, though.
Diving deeper, I checked out some IB English Literature papers, too. The 7712/2B paper from June 2023 caught my eye. It was a 2-hour 30-minute exam, and you needed an answer book and copies of the texts you’d studied. Just thinking about that much writing makes my hand cramp up! I found this 7717/2B paper from June 2021. This one was a full three hours. Three hours of writing! I don’t even know what to say.
After all that, I kind of ended up back where I started. The crossword is still there, waiting to be solved. “Literary fatal flaw”… I realized that I should think about famous characters and their weaknesses. Like, maybe I should make a list or something. But you know, all that digging through past papers and websites really gave me a better sense of what kind of flaws we’re talking about. It’s all about those deep character issues that mess everything up for them.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with this crossword clue. It turned into a whole research thing, but it was kind of interesting, I guess. I still need to solve the clue, but at least I learned a few things along the way, right?
