So, how does a stoic boss act?
- They ain’t afraid of hard work: No sirree! A good boss rolls up their sleeves and gets dirty. They don’t just sit around pointin’ fingers. They lead by doin’, not just sayin’. That’s what my old man always said, bless his soul.
- They’re fair and square: No favoritism, ya hear? Everyone gets treated the same, whether they’re family or not. A good boss makes sure everyone gets a fair shake. Like when we divvied up the harvest, everyone got their fair share, no matter how big or small their plot was.

Thinkin’ before doin’ is key.
A stoic boss don’t just jump into things without thinkin’. They plan ahead and they think about what might happen. They don’t get carried away by their feelings. They make decisions based on what’s right, not just on what feels good. It’s like plannin’ a garden. You gotta think about what you’re gonna plant, where you’re gonna plant it, and how you’re gonna take care of it. You can’t just throw seeds around and hope for the best.
Focusin’ on what you can control, not what you can’t.
This is a big one, I tell ya. A stoic boss don’t worry about things they can’t control. They focus on what they can do, and they do it the best they can. Can’t control the weather, but you can sure as heck fix the leaky roof before the rain comes. Why get all worked up about the neighbor’s prize-winning pig when you can focus on makin’ your own the best it can be?
It ain’t about bein’ a robot.
Now, some folks might think bein’ stoic means you gotta be cold and emotionless. That ain’t it at all. It just means you don’t let your emotions control you. You feel what you feel, but you don’t let it get in the way of doin’ what needs to be done. You know, like when your favorite cow gets sick. You feel sad, but you gotta focus on gettin’ her better.
Stoic stuff for everyday folks.
You don’t gotta be a big shot CEO to use this stoic stuff. It works just as well for runnin’ a farm, a family, or even just your own life. It’s about bein’ strong, bein’ fair, and keepin’ your head on straight, no matter what life throws at ya. And that’s somethin’ we can all use a little more of, ain’t it?
So, there ya have it. Stoic leadership, plain and simple. It ain’t fancy, but it works. It’s about bein’ the kind of person people can count on, the kind of person who can lead ‘em through thick and thin.
